Okoboji Lakes Bible and Missionary Conference Vision Statement:
The Okoboji Lakes Bible and Missionary Conference exists for the purpose of glorifying God through developing within individuals a growing love for God and one another. Specifically, the conference provides a setting in which individuals can listen to God through His Word and through accounts of His global work. It also provides a setting in which individuals can listen to each other in a context of authentic healing community. As these two components are blended in a family recreational setting, there will be an opportunity to enhance the spiritual, physical, and emotional wholeness of individuals and families. As tools are developed to promote continued growth in these areas, individuals and families will be equipped to make a difference in the Church and in their local communities.

  •    A congregational meeting was held with a single-item agenda – the decision about filling the new position of Director of Children and Family Ministries.  Chris Ravn and his wife, Paula, were here for the weekend and met with the Ministry and Executive Council members on Saturday evening.  Then they shared with the congregation both during the worship and fellowship time after church. Members were encouraged to ask him questions, and he shared about his experiences and his hopes if he were to fill the position.

Then Sunday evening the congregation met to discuss their thoughts about Chris being called to fill the position.  Mike Seehusen (from the Search Committee) discussed the salary package, answered some questions, and there was some discussion. After this a written ballot was collected and the decision to call Chris was a unanimous one.  Mike talked to him on the phone and Chris accepted that evening.

  • If you brought items to be used during the VBS games, please stop by the office after church to pick them up. Thanks!

A Note from Anndee Seehusen:

Thank you to everyone who has donated craft supplies for the READ program. The kids have made some awesome projects all thanks to this generous church family! I can't thank you enough for your generosity. As of right now, I don't need any more supplies. You have all contributed so much, that my little closet is overflowing with toilet paper rolls and milk jugs! Thank you again!               ~Anndee

An Important Announcement from Garr and Linnea Hintz:

Church Family and Friends:

It is with mixed emotions that Linnea and I ask for your prayers, praises and understanding in a major change in our lives.  I have accepted new employment that will require us to move to South Dakota.  There are a number of decisions to make but what is certain is that this change in employment will not allow me to fulfill my responsibilities as church chairperson for the full two-year term.

While we anticipate that we will be able to worship with you much of the time in the next couple of months, I recognize that I will need to resign as church chair but have not yet determined when that will take place.

Please pray for us through this transition and also for His church as God moves in the heart of the next person to chair this church.

Garr and Linnea Hintz

Note From Duane Seehusen:

Dear Members; Pomeroy Evangelical Covenant Church,
" I wanted to thank you for supporting the Roger Reeck Training Fund again this year with a very generous gift of $1,000. I am excited to let you know that our first pastor has graduated and is now ready to actively serve the Lord. I am so excited about this fund because each dollar goes so far to educate people who can immediately go back to their people and preach God's Word, happily living the same way as the people they are preaching to. "
                                                                  Thanks again,
                                                                          Duane A. Seehusen
